I think we've all heard a lot of troubling things about the VFX industry over the years. For me it was enough to scare me away from it early on in my career. There is a lot more stability, a lot less politics, and better pay to be had elsewhere in industry.
VFX is like the Olympics of computer graphics.
I reckon any half ambitious artist wants to do it. I'm pretty sure my path will lead me there one day, and hopefully by then some of these sorts of things aren't going on anymore.
Though I doubt it.
