New personal artwork still - Isolation

I initially wrote the piece isolation back in March or April 2020 as a music video when the pandemic was just starting and the lockdowns were taking effect. I always meant to release it as a proper audio production, but I think I was imagining I'd release another classical LP one day, and that it would end up being part of that, however, that isn't likely to be the case. I'll talk more about that on the release of the piece itself onto the music distribution networks - which should be any day now - but the piece needed an artwork, which is what I've created here.
This is definitely new territory for me, using chalk and an awful lot of masking tape on black board. Chalk doesn't seem to have the precision of some other media (or maybe I just don't use it well?) so you end up with a blockier, grittier style. I love it, and it gives me a wide birth for not having to draw things perfectly, which is an obsession I have a hard time getting over. This medium forces me to be looser. Anyone who knows me would tell you me being looser is definitely a good thing...
The image is obviously intensely dark, which isn't an energy I try to cultivate these days. However, that's the way things were 5 years ago, so it was worth revisiting that place to honour where I was, how it felt, and to take a moment to appreciate how far I've come in that time.
