I went through some pretty heavy shit this time last year, and lost someone very close to me, someone who I'd known my whole life.

There's not much anyone can say to someone who is grieving, you can only be there. Fortunately for me, there are a bunch of people who I can always count on, but my kid sister, Pellie, was particularly strong for me when I was going through hell.

I started this drawing at the time, but honestly, I really struggled with it. Life can sometimes snuff out the fire in a man, and once exinguished, you are not living, you are only surviving. It was difficult to bounce back, this time.

But you have to bounce back.

I created this piece to thank her, and to express both the love and pain I felt at the time, and will no doubt always feel, to some extent.

I hope you like it.
