This personal project was primarily a lighting study, but I also wanted to explore the rendering of fabrics. How to convey comfort and softness. It seems a great deal of this is in the shaders, how the forms are accentuated as specular highlights roll over wrinkled normal maps and geometric folds.
The aim here was to capture morning light, in particular how it somehow feels different to day or afternoon light. Maybe it just feels different because you aren't tired in the morning... in theory anyway! I think I might do a few more in this series, time permitting, to explore the effects of light on mood.
